Questions

How are the plates made?

Each plate is cut and engraved on our laser in North Hollywood from the file you preview on this page, after someone in the shop checks it. The lettering is engraved into the material, not printed on it, so it won’t peel or rub off in normal handling.

When does it ship?

Plates are engraved to order in 7–10 business days, then ship from North Hollywood by USPS Ground Advantage ($9, free over $200, 2–5 days in transit) or you can pick up at the shop for free by appointment. Spot a typo after ordering? Email us within 24 hours and we fix it before engraving.

Can I change the labels?

Yes. Every plate in a kit is editable in the plate builder before you add it to the cart, and the preview updates as you type. You can also pick the color scheme and lettering style for the whole set.

What sizes are available?

Three standard sizes: A is 3" × 0.75" for drawers and small gear, B is 4" × 1" for racks and equipment, and C is 4.5" × 1.5" for case exteriors.

How do they mount?

Each plate ships with 3M VHB adhesive backing. Clean the surface, peel the liner, place the plate and press firmly for 30 seconds. The bond reaches about 90% strength in 24 hours and full strength in about 72 hours at room temperature. It bonds to clean metal, painted and laminate surfaces. Polypropylene case shells, including Pelican™ Protector cases, need an adhesion promoter such as 3M Tape Primer 94 first. No tools or drilling.

Can I order 100 or more?

Yes. For fleet runs, sequential asset numbers or department sets on one purchase order, start a fleet order with your list and we reply with a proof and bulk pricing.

What is the return policy?

Plates are engraved to order with your text, so they cannot be returned for change of mind or text you entered. If a plate is defective, damaged in transit or does not match the preview you approved, we remake or refund it. See Shipping & Returns.
